Steps to Joining Our Jr.Gaels Youth Tackle Football Program   

1.Register with Nevada Youth Sports (NYS) for tackle football or cheer.

• The Jr. Gaels operates during both Fall and Spring season with teams for ages 7U (7 and under) through 13U (13 and under) and offers a cheer program. The age your player is as of July 1st will determine their which age division they belong to. Our cheerleading team takes children ages 7-13 all on one team. When you register, you'll have the option to select which team or coach you'd like your child to play with.

*FAQ-Playing up or down an age division - While a player may play up an age division, they will never be allowed to play a division lower than their league age.

When making a decision on whether a player should play up an age division, please consider things like experience, size, and ability. Growing with their peers can be more beneficial for their skills and confidence than pushing them into a circumstance that may not be ready for. The last thing we want to see is a child become disheartened or hurt when playing causing them to hate a sport we want them to love. 

2. Contact the coach for your age division's team.
 

• To find out information about your players team, locate their team page in the "Divisions" drop down menu at the top of this page. This is where you will find general information regarding practice times, locations and coaches. The head coaches contact information will be listed there as well for you to contact with any questions regarding the team. 
   

*Keep in mind that different teams and camps may start their programs at different times then what is listed on the Nevada Youth Sports (NYS) page. Be sure to get team information as soon as possible so your player doesn't miss out on vital practice time. 

3. Sign up for National Sports ID (NSID).

NSID is necessary for your player to participate in all NYS games and many tournaments. A league representative will be present at the beginning of every game to check in each teams roster before they start. If a players  NSID is missing or expired they will not be allowed to participate in that game. It takes a few days for an  NSID to be verified, so be sure to get all necessary information submitted to before the season begins.

To complete your (NSID) verification, parents will need to complete the following steps:

1. Date of Birth Verification

   • Enter the player’s correct date of birth.

2. Player Photo

   • Upload a clear, current photo of the player.

3. Birth Certificate

   • Upload your child's birth certificate.

4. School Document

   • Upload your child's most recent report card.

5. Payment

   • Complete the NSID payment step.

6. NSID Review

   • After all required information is submitted, NSID will review the account for approval.
      

Important Note

NSID verification is a separate process from NYS league registration. Parents must complete the NSID verification and upload all required documents before the player can be fully cleared to participate.
